XCOM 2 is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to the 2012 reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

The game takes place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown, where humanity lost the war against the alien invaders and XCOM, the last line of defense, was betrayed and disbanded. XCOM 2 follows the story of the remnants of XCOM as they attempt to overthrow the alien occupation and restore human control.
